What about town banks that you can borrow cats from.and if you dont pay them back in a few days they send bandits you could also try to raid them however you would be trated as a bandit and attacked on sight! Thoughts?

Not a bad idea, but if you're powerful and want easy money, the banks would go the first go-to place in that case. There must be more punishment for not paying back, like a bank faction, with a negative amount of reputation with them, they'll not borrow you any money.

And in the situation the land of kenshi is in, I don't think anyone would trust someone to lend to much money, so I guess.. small amounts could be borrowed.

Hmmm your right more punishment should be involved prehaps having your limbs broken in torture so you can only crawl or maybe imobilzed (your whole squad) then some bankers go to your base and dismantle your buildings? This would drive me nuts... But also I think the bank only factions with a good rep would be allowed in and enemy facs would raid them and you could earn a few quid by stopping them? Thats a better way of doing bussiness with banks?

Yes, and there must be something in for the banks, because otherwise there would be nothing in for them. So when you're in debt, the payback itself should be larger than the loan itself, so they benefit something. And if you're not able to pay to them, the debt slowly grows - and the anger and threath also slowly increase.

A while ago, there was a bug in which your cats would become a negative amount. the bug was eventually fixed. I have also noticed that its getting harder and harder to get started on building a base or an outpost.

the soultion:
borrowing money from certain factions.
In exchange, they would get to use your outpost services for free until the debt was payed, and once the debt was payed, a huge diplomatic boost.

And, if you failed to make the payments in time, then they would siege your outpost and take it from you.

conditions for the loan should include: either building the base in a place they tell you to build it ,discovering a resource that you want to exploit, or making a trade route safer for the caravans.
