Hey Mr. OneManArmyDeveloperGuy =)
I want to tell you my Reasons why I would NOT buy the game, so that youre hopefully able to make my doubts disapear. I also read through the other topics so I hope that I wont talk about a mentioned thing =)
If Im totally wrong with some point dont bother it just say no =D Im quite sure that my expectations are rather high for a casual gamer, since im also a gameDev =)
#1 and biggest fear:
The game wont differ that much from games like "port roayle", dont get me wrong i played this game for a long time and loved it, but after some time
you tested and succeded in every job posibility you have, like in beeing a "sand pirate", a trader or whatever. Well if you compare this to really life
your job possibilites are limited to so thats not the point im thinking about, its more that i ussualy am getting bored because there will be the point
when there are no better weapons to buy or not bigger city to build. So theres my first question: DO YOU WANT to create a WORLD that isnt static and will
ALWAYS CHALANGE you or will there be a point when your are somehow nearly invincible?
When I played the demo and made it to fully upgrade my 2 squad members depening on armour, weapons, money and skill within 5 hours
(I didnt find a solution how to equip them better until now) fear #1 came up. I know that everything is still alpha and im not questioning the current
state only your future plans. So i would love to see it if the world around you develops, like inventuring new technology (maybe for weapons or whatever).
I know that you already sad that the world around you isnt leveling up ... but I maybe think in this case this could be a mistake because the world
is ALWAYS developing around you and it would increase the sense of reality if "kenshi´s" world would also - but thats just my opinion.
#2 NPC which have a life?
well one thing that makes life for people in real life easier are social contacts, make them forget their hard work, so setting NPCs up who have a
life would make this game PRETTY much interesting to explore. Sharing a history with others, becoming there friends, sharing their hopes, fears and
fortune would surely add a great amount of fun. But as in every game: HOW do you avoid that to many NPCs live the same life and provides you with the same type of mission?
Humans are unique and its pretty hard for a gameDev to make the player belive that every NPC is unique too.
#3 cities?
will there be a ristricted number of cities that will exist in the game? Im not asking if your limited to build only one city or whatever Im asking if the
NPCs are building NEW cities in NEW areas while your playing? Will there be some type of resources like "water","gold" which make NPCs build cities near that
resources? (I would apreciate that fact)
These 3 points are the most important points to me, the following should more be like inspiration for you what you could maybe implant.
I already know that this is one hell of a project which will keep you working for a long time if you can want to fullfill these goals, but Im happy that you
came up with such a brilliant idea.
4# factions?
Can you become a faction of your onw?
Will there be some kind of diplomacy system between factions? =D (ceasefire/peace/trade/war)
#5 Food,Sleep?
Will there be a food/feed-your-squad system? or are they smart enough to selfpreserving stuff on their own? because otherwise you could stay weeks within the
desert without doing anything than just rading bandits and looting them
OK for now i think this is really enough critic =) but i hope that you see it as a constructiv one. Im a follower from the very right moment when you did talked
about the features of kenshi that you hope to implent. From the very first day since you uploaded a picture to indieDb and im quite sure that I will buy a license for the
game what ever this game is turning out to be, at least to support you because I adore your idea.
Regards
btw totaly love the ideas of this guy =D

So, why would you not buy the game again? I don't see a reason here.
There WILL be a phase where it's similar to port royale.pyroinflames wrote: #1 and biggest fear:

You can build and destroy cities, so the world will ALWAYS change.
NPC's can level up too.
You CAN become near invincible.
You will be able to research technology somewhere around the time you can construct cities.pyroinflames wrote: When I played the demo and made it to fully upgrade my 2 squad members depening on armour, weapons, money and skill within 5 hours

He said the levels WONT scale with you.
What he didn't say is that NPC's will level up on their own.
They won't all be unique, but there will be some that are.pyroinflames wrote: #2 NPC which have a life?

Not everyone in the world is special enough to stick out even though we are all unique.

These are things Chris has already said WILL be in the game. You say you've been here since the start. But apparently you never actually read anything....
Please do some research next time Mr. casual gamer/developer.
If Chris has changed his mind on any of these features, he hasn't said so yet. So I can't be held responsible if any of these responses are wrong.

i will be working hard at achieving this. eventually levelling up and making money will be harder. Also the high-level equipment you will only get by researching and crafting. Also you will have much more than just weapons and armour to spend your money on.
everything else is generally a yes, except at this point towns are fixed and can only be made by the player
