Chris,
Since the Armor crafting and new player model update a while back, there has been a distinct lack of color in almost all armor and clothing. Prior to the update, battlefields would look like this. Now it all looks like this.
All the armor and clothing has become just various shades of brown and grey. It detracts from the appearance and makes it look reminiscent of those same-y, grimdark shooters we all hate. I realize stuff like dyes is a ways off, but could you please add in some colored equipment for some of the factions or stores?

Thanks for reading,
Tolwrath.

That's true. I liked the old colorful style of Kenshi. Now it's all looking the same. And I like the faction colors to some point even if it weren't too realistic.

Maybe everyone has at least one piece of equipment that's the same as faction color? It might be different piece for everyone in the group or some might have the same piece colored and some might have more than one, etc. That could bring some nice color without everyone looking like elves in their all red clothes. Or maybe these small things like colored head bands, colored jewelry hanging from sides, pockets, ears...

Also, I remember there being almost exactly same kind of post earlier. ;)

Honestly, I would prefer something more unique to distinguish between factions.

I'm 100% for 'Faction Uniforms' being a specific color which can vary from faction to faction as well as from soldier 'type' to 'type' (when I say 'type', I mean the difference between a Holy Servant and a Holy Paladin, or a Mercenary from a Mercenary Heavy). This would help tremendously when trying to identify NPCs on the horizon currently, but do we really want to have that capability in the future without skilled Perception chars? I certainly don't.
Then again, with the addition of the 'Uniform' tag on equipment from guards, I would very much prefer that each char have their own unique combination of colors (I imagine this will be done within a reasonable palette of similar shades rather than RNG'ing some hexadecimal value) and to have something extra to distinguish the faction, be it sashimonos, emblems on helmets, shoulders, chest, and/or leg armour, or it could be something as simple as where their primary weapons are holstered (i.e. back, side of hip, across the small of the back, etc.).
