[0.70.6] Random Crash
Was moving on my way to Trader's Eye from the mountains near-by, and as the games was loading, it crashed.
Also, I was coming down from the other settlement (can't remember the name right off-hand) and found this little beauty:http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/535 ... 7461FF435/
I don't know how they do that, but they were completely stuck on that little hill. It seems to be a common occurrence. (I tried putting it in the post itself, but it's just too big. lawl) Is it a bug?

I have my squad split up into two towns. Double clicked to go to a unit in the other town which lead to a crash. Possibly a loading crash.

Seems to have the same reason to crash as the following:
http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... f=9&t=7378
(In all cases it's the "10:21:35: Dust bandit Deactivate
10:21:35: OGRE EXCEPTION(8:RuntimeAssertionException): This entity is not sharing it's skeletoninstance. in Entity::shareSkeletonWith at C:\kenshi\ogre_src_181\OgreMain\src\OgreEntity.cpp (line 2292)" as reason.)

Crashed while loading the town I was running into. I guess that's my five minutes of Kenshi for the week... let me know when a new bugfix comes out. Zzzzzz.

Same steps as my last one posted here. Imported into a new game, moved around a bit with one character, double clicked to go to my squad in another town expecting a crash, but it didn't crash. Double clicked to go back to my first units town, and crash

Same thing again. Trying to focus my camera on a member of the squad that wasn't in my loaded area.

Hopefully three is enough to get this figured out. These were fresh imported games from a game that was created in .70.6.

Imported that game, saved the game, then imported that saved game into a new game and got a good hour and 20 mins of gametime, but then... crash.
The size of this dump is pretty big...
Loaded up my autosave for that game, and it's insta-crash before anything even completes loading. small crashdump is the load up crash.

ok this is looking to not be so random of a crash
after several times loading this one save game, when HaTsUnNe nEkO runs to get building materials the game crashes. so far every time i have loaded this save it does it at that exact time, every time.
so here is another crashdump plus the zipped up quick save folder.

I've been having intermittant crashes when warping between distant zones when the party is split, or when loading a new zone. I thought it was just the game blahing out after N zone loads in a session.
Now i've got something much more like what's going on here; in this game continue running towards trader's edge and the game will crash.
I saw the dust bandit deactivation messages in the log and tried deleting the platoon data for everything but my squad, but that didn't help.
I stuffed the quicksave folder in the crash report zip... and then recompressed it as 7zip so it would fit on the forum.
----
Update
I managed to fix this by opening the .save file in the forgotton whatsit editor and deleting the entries THERE for the dust bandit platoons. Seems to be working fine now. Now if only I could get rid of about 50% of the random samurais lagging my fps...

Yes, Kenshi has indeed serious loading problems, but that can be related to user's own computer, I have a good rig now, but once I had wagon that only luck made it run games and it had constant loading problems, graphical, fps, constant CTDS with different games, it were all related to memory and graphics cards, some crashes can be fixed by updatting your softwares, I can prove this, also its just better to wait and see, maybe it's intentional dev editting in order to make the game run smoother in the future, or new features being added and processed, or.. buy decent hardware that can run Kenshi 4 times simultaneous.
Whatever works.

Whatever works.
You can custom set the number of npcs each platoon has in the options menu if you seem to be lagging more than usual, even though I have a good computer, Kenshi sometimes just overkill it by spawning thousands of platoons that can have up 10/6 members, sum that up with corpses to be looted, critters roaming, city script, and you're probably going to have a memory processor problem.StarWeaver wrote:I've been having intermittant crashes when warping between distant zones when the party is split, or when loading a new zone. Umm, somehow I doubt that an issue which SEEMS to be related to a bad resource pointer / lock, and which is directly tied to a SPECIFIC resource and clears up when that resource is removed from the game world (at least in my case), has anything to do with people trying to run the game on a potato.Roque wrote:Yes, Kenshi has indeed serious loading problems, but that can be related to user's own computer, I have a good rig now, but once I had wagon that only luck made it run games and it had constant loading problems, graphical, fps, constant CTDS with different games, it were all related to memory and graphics cards, some crashes can be fixed by updatting your softwares, I can prove this, also its just better to wait and see, maybe it's intentional dev editting in order to make the game run smoother in the future, or new features being added and processed, or.. buy decent hardware that can run Kenshi 4 times simultaneous.

If it helps anyone, here's my spec dumps.

I just had a very similar thing happen outside Catun. It was loading then it crashed. I tried to replicate it at the same spot on my next load and it didn't work, but it did crash leaving Catun towards Shark while loading. Both crash dumps are attached.
