Gladiators

Hi. I have an idea !
We can add gladiator fight in the Towns. Our members of the Team, would can fight in place like coloseum, This would be next/another way how we could life on the games.

Cereators can develop this idea and add , for example , guilds that deal with the issuing of slaves to fight ( including us ) are associated with crate the new buildings , objects , and features.

Our members can fight between themselves, for the train Combat Skills , of course, they used to for example the wooden weapons, so they do not die, at the time of the duel .

I'm a fan of Keshi . I want to help create such a masterwork game , I will try to add new ideas the stupid and the clever

try using search first before posting feature requests.

this helps keeping down double feature requests which we already have tons of.

if i remember right, a Dojo type building will be added to the game.

I think it might be a good idea not to discourage people who are posting similar feature requests. That way you can sort of quantify what the majority of Kenshi forum users want, making it easier to create a hierarchy on what features to add, and the order to which to add them.
On the other hand, the people who actually create an account here are most likely the ones who enjoyed the theme of the game enough to post suggestions and discuss the game with like-minded individuals, therefore you'd be catering to a rather specific target market.

But then again it all depends on the game's scope. Not sure if their thing is to please everyone and everything, because if it was, it'd be easier to make a voxel-based FPS with an open world.

No need to encourage that behavior though, since some people might create different accounts to bump their ideas to the top.

If there thing was to please everyone Kenshi would o.o be way to easy , and be an MMO by this point. i'm glad they're making the game 'they' want , an simply adding suggestions they like. instead of catering/caving into every demand o.o...to many games do that, an ruin the game in the process.

Having people search helps for many reasons.

Keeping the same type of request in others that have already been posted helps keep down on request clutter. this also cuts down on the Devs need to hunt down feature requests and which ones are popular. This can also help evolve the idea that's been requested. as they can then modify their request based on whats already been said.

This is normal on any forum. using search helps a ton for both the players and Moderators and Developers.
this is why we request people use search first. other wise there idea will get buried among the other requests.

and to tell the truth, just makes our jobs that much more difacult when someones doesnt use search.
if i thought this idea was anything new or great i would have hunted down the main request thread and merged it. but sicne it covers nothing new it will just sit here.

Perhaps the forum needs a little clean up moving threads into other topics that cover the same stuff. it'd probably be a lot of work but might be worth it in the long run, cause most people tend to think their ideas are so good that noone could ever have those same ideas o.o , or that they might be the first . especially if they don't find it within the first 3 or 4 pages.

Also perhaps creating sub-categories for suggestions might help to sort them out?

Yes, I understand the reason behind using the search engine, I don't think you understood what I was trying to say.

You can easily quantify what the majority of Kenshi forum users want by counting the numbers of similar requests, making it easier to create a hierarchy on what features to add, and the order which to add them during the beta.

we already had someone try.
the amount is just to much. and that don't even cover all of the ideas. that's just a small portion.

I was thinking about gladiators and just used the search function to take a look through. It seems like this is the most specific thread to gladiators while most of the others reference slavery as the foundation.

I like the idea of different classes of gladiators, and if we think back to what it was like then, not all were slaves. Some chose to fight for glory and fame, some because they were conquered in battle and now this was their fate.

I think the different motives work well to create different levels of challenge in an eventual arena.

I also think an arena would work really well for the Holy Nation, and help them to deal with tainted ones, and the like.

So basically what got me thinking about gladiators was the idea of faction relations. I got to thinking how a famous gladiator should have really good standing with the host faction, possibly losing standing should the arena's champion be bested.

But I think the differing classes of gladiators should be a major component, with a player starting off up against a dog or slave at the lower end of the rankings, and eventually going up to fight off-duty soldiers, and finally squaring off against the celebrity gladiators of the town.

This would really improve the game a lot in my eyes, and I hope the devs are seriously looking at it.

Not at the top of my list. Gladiator start is something that you RP, and a basic Kenshi start is tougher as it is. You have all the fighting and no one feeds you.
But I can see a fighting pit building that could be used in more then one situation. The bandit king would be a good person to have one. Then dust bandits might pick you up and put you in cages to fight for his pleasure. Slavers could sell you to his faction.

But I any of these cases it's a win or die scenario. When you do down in the pit no one should heal you. they should let the dogs in to eat your loser carcass. So your games would be very short and you would restart often.
