Ok well this is sad that this choice was made maybe if the team began working on the blackcats territory it would be better but I understand that it's a bit late now.

I talking about the deadly giraffe that spawned during the night near a hive village where I was resting. Well this was obvious but I meant one more time that the area we are able to play is not really the best of the full map because finally we can't use the complete area you gave us because sea and large mountains occupy a large part of this area. And about sandstorm I'm talking about the white part of the map in North West, I traveled there and I could not see a thing because of sands that cover my screen so I guess it was a sandstorm.

Ah.. Beakthings. They're meant to be dangerous. If you're not strong enough to fight them, then you'll need to stay out of that area for now.

That would be the fog. There's nothing preventing you from building there other than your own ability to survive ;p

Kenshi isn't meant to be a cakewalk. To some who don't enjoy things being overly challenging, the holy nation lands could be a turn-0ff, but for others, it was quite a welcoming introduction to what Kenshi is supposed to be. Brutal, and unfair. If you're hoping for any location that's going to be quick and easy to survive outside of an NPC fortified town, you'll be disappointed. I'm sure there might be a few areas that you'll be safe, but overall, that isn't this kind of game.

Kenshi offers a wide variety of possible growth methods though, even safe ones. Find a town that doesn't hate you, purchase a building inside the town, and start doing research. Collect resources for money, build up a squad, and then set out on your own when you're prepared. The original idea is that you are -not- supposed to just rush out and start an outpost.. That option is still there though, because Kenshi steers clear from invisible forces that prevent you from taking actions, as well as allows people to try it that way if they wish for the challenge.

It's all very doable.. It just takes a bit of learning from failures, and understanding that you will not always be ready, and you cannot just do everything and anything you want until you are. Building up to that point is the jewel of Kenshi.

here is what should be happening and stop with the F♥♥♥ you attitude if you would please,..

the game should have random group sizes with out me touching the damn controls. I should never have to change the controls on a game except to make the sound and video play to my liking. This is how i have approached every game i have beta-d and alpha-d since i started doing so.. back when they actually paid people to do so.

Now in the present i actually do have several companies that take what i state and make millions of dollars off of them. (the ideas)... try Fallout 4 with the Mechanist ... Or Xcom with the enemy within .. shall we continue, i do not think that i should as i despise actually having to stop someone who may be a dev and make them think ok... maybe this guy has something .., because guess what i do actually have good ideas.

Maybe the scaling isnt your forte' i mean it is a substantial amount of programming to get it to scale in regards to this game, not sure if it would double the code but it would increase it significantly. BUT THE GAME IS IN ALPHA STATE FOR PEOPLE TO STATE THERE ARE ISSUES WITH IT... or didn't you guys get the memo that you put out? But i tend to get annoyed when people say that no there is no room for change in our game.. that is essentially stating .. Just give us your money and shut the hell up.

i understand that you have an absolute concept of the game, and i do not want to change that concept. However this is a video game ment for pleasure time activities NOT a life. So take into consideration that there needs to be some adjustment and this is supposed to be adjustment time for the program.

And i should never have to change the game play settings cmon that is just stupid.

Well i think i am going to get banned from the steam postings as i am getting tired of this argument and have stated the above.

Just an FYI if you do decide to ban me from steam and or any other web site for reviews make sure you authorize refund for the game as i will not play it any longer, and will submit a refund request.

I do like the game and the concept path of where the game is, but you should not out of the box start out in a game get beat up robbed and shoved into slavery within 1 min of the start of the game this is not mechanics this is lazy programming and will only cause issues in the future. Please for the sake of your game alter your idiot-ology. and ideology as well. Thank you

importing from the other forum in a argumentative behavior is extremely unacceptable.
you got a 7 day time out for this behavior.

you also got one on the steam forums.

Level scaling is something many AAA games feature, they adjust the difficulty of the game as you play them. This leads to the side effect that your progression becomes meaningless, sure your character gets stronger but if all the NPCs around you gain more HP in kind, whats the point of the progression in the first place? Really there is none, its just there to trick people who dont understand whats happening into playing the game longer. If you, the player, want to make your own experience pointless by manually tuning the enemy squad size up as you play the game, please do so.

A pillar of kenshi is the exclusion of level scaling, the people in the world are already there at whatever strength and size they are supposed to be. If you overcome hungry bandits, try dust bandits, if you overcome them, try ninjas, fog men, cannibals, eventually try taking on holy nation or united cities or tech hunters and so on and so on to old machines and leviathans. There is criticism to be made about maybe holy nation people arent strong enough for their position in the heirarchy, or their pants dont protect enough or whatever, that sort of criticism makes sense. But what you are doing is suggesting is to make kenshi into a different kind of game, at that point you should refund if its still an option to you, or simply go play one of the countless games that caters to you in the way that you want. There arent many games that do it like kenshi does, so don't ask to take that away.

Before I tried Kenshi, a glance at the Steam reviews told me that a number of players were unsatisfied and complained about "the developers taking too long" or "acting b!tchy in the face of criticism". Reading through these complaints myself, most of them boil down to a few things: users are impatient or otherwise don't get that this sort of development takes a while, users are ignorant to the fact that the game HAS advanced in its development, users (who spend more of their time on forums than uh let's see, developing a game) do not get how distracting forum discussions are and how much time they take—ON TOP OF the time it takes to make a game!

So I want to thank the developers of Kenshi for the work they have put into this. It is a very ambitious project, and rolls together elements of some of my game favorites: Mount & Blade meets Baldur's Gate meets Total War, something like that. And before the hounds all descend on me saying "Meh, you're just a fanboy!", okay, obviously there are bugs and they need fixing; do I need to reiterate that? It's why I only pick up this game every few months. Meanwhile, if you have a critique, don't be an @sshole. I want to see this game when it's polished, so distracting the devs with forum-b!tching isn't going to help that.

As a first impression, that was one of the reasons why I liked this game right away. I tire of the hand-holding that has become the norm in mainstream games. Kenshi is ready to disembowel you from the outset. Life lessons. It feels bad@ss, and because of that it felt WAY MORE REWARDING when my main character was strong enough that he could knock down a whole party of Desert Bandits by himself while scouting alone (everyone else was laboring at camp).

I could say something to roll a critique into this; like, yeah, maybe the devs released Kenshi way too soon and were asking for people to become impatient. Ok—but things happened the way they happened, and amazingly, Kenshi now exists. Fortunately I have a life and I'm not just sitting around fuming over when this game will be out; it's fun to check in on its progress over time and it is a very fun game to play. Obviously there are bugs. I have had many crashes. Obviously the quests and interactions and other features aren't complete. But you have made strides. I hope you guys perfect it.

The game needs alot more armor...armor types/skins
I can only cry about whats in the game now,and all i really got to say is

To many naked bandits. If you made more armor skins,,they would have armor? or would a huge chunk of the map be naked bandit types?

Not enough Flat earth
Not enough copper and iron around good locations, near the beaches....or what there is of the flat earth..

I mean the blank boring desert was A true love of mine,i miss it,like i miss a dead friend. :|
Bad pathing and mountains just do not go well together.

I hope a chuck of the new world is a desert...WITHOUT ROADS.

AND for the love of god...no more noob areas with weak bandits or weak naked bandits.Raise that combat skill up to atleast 60.....i mean i make medkits...iv had the same medkits in my mens bags for a month...thats about 100hrs+ play time. IF you do make more weak bandits, put out some more mod stuff or something. And yes i know you can mod the bandits stats...

Btw i love the game

Yes, please, and more light armour like the "assassin's rags" (my favourite one) and make those cool gas mask available to public.....and some more helmet shops I think I just saw one disguised as an armour shop

This is normal.....we are in a post apocalyptic land and unless you are a girl living in Holy Nation territory you have no time or cats to wear a shirt

Yes....too much mountains, those poors bandits and nomads have to do their camps in weird positions because of this :(

Yes, the areas around beach are the best one to build (a lot of space with no Holy nation city/town near) but it's bug zone right now because it's all "dead" but if you go close to Hive zone you can find some copper spots.....for iron you can always pay a visit to some hive village

Oh yes......I loved that big desert with a lot of locations to build :D

Don't forget about the robo-crabs/spiders, the beach is full of them. My oldest character went out to look for iron,(it seemed like a nice neighborhood at the time) and was casually jumped by a group of them.

Better than placing a camp near/inside Shek ruins....stay a litle there and you will see what happens.....

P.S: I didn't see robo-spiders there, just some cannibals (sometimes) and nomads (rarely)

Whoops, I was thinking of the wrong area. I meant the beach (upper NW of map) Between Cannibal Plains and the ironically named, Iron Trail.

I recently discovered that I was living next door to a cannibal settlement

Nice people,

Saw my guy was tired so they carried him and even invited him to dinner.

Side-note: Where are the shek ruins located?

I LOVE this game
but

there some minor thangs
1 Optimisation !!!!!!!!!!
2 More moments when you can overhear a conversation about some ancient ruin in a place
3 ADD A ECONOMY plz
like guild 2
town B needs swords. a trade cart from town A with weapns goes to town A and and now the trader has more swords. THIS WILL ADD soooo much DEPTH to the game

a town has 3 farms around it let say u siege the town but the garrison is too much for you
so you stop all trading carts or you destroy the famrs slowly the city starves and you take it over
This would be pretty hard to do but something like this would make this game soo much deeper and you can become a bandit your self robbing carts

Ok, So after reading through this topic a bit. This is one of the best games I have played to date. So... Hurry up with new map area to explore and conquer DAMN IT!!! I'm tired of importing every hour and half to get another AI Core by clearing every lab and workshop on the playable map half the time there is no AI Core to be found anyway they are RARE or they are from my experience. I WANT MORE CONTENT! GIMMIE MORE! RIGHT MEOW!
Good job thus far guys/gals.
And if I maybe enlightened, is there a idea of when more map area will be released?

Well, this is a gripe and it doesnt fit under gameplay or bugs so i might as well mention that in 0.94.0 the game got much brighter in general, including character portraits and the world itself. There are a few nice changes like eyes on skeletons being visible, but most of the character's eyes now look wide ans goofy. Overall the blueish tinted brightness and eyes are making the characters look very cartoony on portraits.

Also, while im griping about brightness i might as well gripe some more about the colorful terrain, having more than "sand, sand, and rough sand" is a plus but more than half the environments in the game are using "fake colors" and its a bit of an eyesore. All the purples blues and reds (and then we have the green sand mixed with red grey and blue in the fog islands!) get to be excessive, and each terrain texture has its own mix of colors leading to an extremely busy, incoherent feeling thats pretty tough on the eyes. It feels like the terrain as a whole needs a pass to turn down the saturation by 50% or more and the textures themselves are suffering from this. More colors and detail doesnt always make things look better. The overworld map's colors would look a lot better in more places if it's colors were followed, but the cannibal plains for example are all just blue for some reason and vain is outright strong purple instead of the vague greyish pink. Looking around the new areas we have nice desert and marsh with a little fantasy here and there but then we have an issue of scale, the trees and glass shards in some of the new areas are rediculously big, i get that they need to be out of the way of the camera in a game like this but its very surprising nonetheless! Maybe im just sad that there isn't any sand that doesnt have a red tinge anywhere on the current open map.

This, soooo much this right here. I had something to say about the pathing and how for such a massive game I don't expect it to work 100% all the time even when polished and released. I even had a cool story about how it was immersive for me, that I felt I had really learned the land after living in one place for so long and where pathing issue would arise and I would predict it and work around them almost as second nature. BUT, I spent so long on this post that the first one timed out and I lost an hours worth of thoughts and opinions.

So now, my biggest critique is the GODD**M forums. This isn't the first time I've lost an hour or so of my life trying to communicate to the community. I must say NOTHING, absolutely nothing in game as even come close to frustrating me like my experience on the forum has.
