This would be very useful for a number of professions, especially trading and engineering.
You'd select a character then right click and hold on the animal you want to use a backpack(provided they have an inventory) and there'd be an option for 'Use at backpack' or 'Use as mule' or whatever.
Animals head now appears in the backpack slot of the character and it follows him around where ever they go at the speed of the slowest of the two.
using animals as Backpacks

buy a bull and buy a backpack for it.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

Yep, been doing it in a long trips for a while now. Neat! It's not really automated, so i have to manually load the bull's backpack, but at least animals are able to "trade" with characters and containers, so it's not a big deal, feels real, works smoothly.
well aware of that, but you still need to transfer stuff in between the bull and a character and then to whatever else you want, instead of them using the bull as an inventory as is the point of this suggestion.Hatsune_Neko wrote:buy a bull and buy a backpack for it.

that would be handy
but personally i like the fact you can't use the bulls to directly move inventory to but instead have to dump into your inventory then transfer to the bull.

I would to if there was an easier way to do so, as in a "move all" button or something. But especially when trading and you have lots of small items it just becomes such a damn pain to have to click so many times.Hatsune_Neko wrote:that would be handy

yea
that would be a better way. though that has been requested before. we will see if the Dev adds it in or not.

Currently, you can move items directly to a bull's/gar's/dog's backpack. They don't get the gear pointer that shows up on containers, but the containers are clickable, and you can then open inventory and transfer at will (I am not sure if this is a bug or working as intended, though). They cannot pick up things off the ground, or characters, though it might be nice to throw a ragdoll or two across a bull's back and lug them across the waste.
