I'm playing via GOG Galaxy, if that's relevant.
Characters that have a dried fish in their inventory will neither eat it nor get alternative food from elsewhere. I haven't tested all foods, but dried fish is the only one I've noticed this problem with.
I am also getting the crop failure farming bug reported elsewhere.

how far did you let them get hungry?
they could be like greenfruit where they need to be starving to eat it.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.

That's possible, but two or three characters got well into red bar territory, and one was showing starvation on the icon (yellowish background). As soon as I removed the fish from their inventories they ran to the food store and got something to eat. I can't replicate it now as I've sold all my fish and my farms are now producing (even without the farm failure bug (now fixed!), I had a major raptor problem preventing anything getting harvested, which is why I had fish in the first place (if raptors dropped meat I could have just run the farms as baitHatsune_Neko wrote:how far did you let them get hungry?

This is a great game!
That would be just silly. Dried fish is perfectly fine food. Greenfruit is more of a crafting ingredient/building material and makes sense not to eat unless starving, just like with seeds irl. You can eat the seeds of your crops, but good luck getting any more food without them if you rely on your farm.Hatsune_Neko wrote:how far did you let them get hungry?

Dried fish otoh is an end product, a good one as well, as food goes it's somewhat easy to get in volume and easy to store. I am very certain this is not the intended behavior.
And to answer your question: just below 180 I guess - barely hungry, but enough to give a significant debuff with stats in the 50ies and 60ies.

i know the greenfruit supposed to only be eaten when your hunger is at 60
FIXES
-Characters don't eat your greenfruit unless they are starving (<60)
maybe the same with fish if you get to that level?

You didn't get my point.
Even *if* fish would be eaten at <60 hunger, that would still be a bug, because it makes no sense to treat fish the same as seeds in contrast to treating it as regular food (which dried fish is). If this were intentional, I suggest you move this to the gameplay section of the forum, but as it stands, it feels to me like a bug.

Yeah has been a bug for a long time.
The real issue with this is that as long as they have dried fish they will not go to a food storage and get anything else. And they will not eat out of unit backpacks either. I have even had them starving with food in their own backpack, but fish in their regular inventory.
So they will just sit there with their fish not eating it or anything else until they are starving.
For some reason they seem to prefer fish over all other foods, so much so they will not eat it.

the point was taken
but seems that fish might be broken atm. so try removing it from your inventory or moving it to a non food storage container for now.
