Does the music play as well? So basically, do you see picture, hear music, but can't interract with buttons?

You can change it manually in Kenshi\settings.cfg, open it with a text editor and change "hardware_mouse=0" to "hardware_mouse=1"

Usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\settings.cfg
You can right click > open file location on your steam shortcut and follow that path if you can't find it there.
If the file is not there for some reason you can create it as a text file, insert the line "hardware_mouse=1" and save it as settings.cfg.

Worked like first time, just when i entered it worked. I switched it to experimental, and then it does it again. Even with the settings.cfg file...

Try ALT-TAB.
Try different window settings for Kenshi, switch between fullscreen and borderless.
Do you use any mouse effects? Try turn them off.
Do you have any software that uses an overlay? VoIP/chat sofware, for example discord, try to turn them off.
Do you use high dpi/mouse speed? Try lowering it.

None of the previous mentions suggest you anything you did/set on windows that might cause it?
Try repairing/reinstalling Kenshi.
Also, as no one seems to know the cause, can you provide more infos? And the Kenshi\*.log and Kenshi\*.cfg files. Maybe those files will help.

I had this issue too, and it would change my resolution. If you open it thru steam, do shift + tab. If not, CTRL+ALT+DEL. and then open task manager or something and tab back in.

Open the kenshi folder, you'll see a lot of files that have an extension .cfg and .log, put those in an archive and upload it here. The forum only accepts compressed files I think (zip, rar, 7z are the ones that you might be familiar with).

Try this, place the file settings.cfg from the archive into your kenshi folder and overwrite if asked.

No idea how to help further, if you can manage to upload the .logs could be useful. Enable show file extensions so you can actually see them.
