I was just thinking it would be nice to be able to build a suitable building in towns.
For example a well, or generator or a bigger building then is available for sale within the town's area of control.
I was thinking that perhaps when we try and place it there would be a cost to purchase the land that would be equal to the cost of buying that type of building already built. If we pay the cost then we can build the building. Cost could also be multiplied by the factions relation ship status to you.

That might be interesting... like say buying the plot of land for whatever building you're creating plus the building materials? Something similar I wouldn't mind seeing would be the option to restore some of the destroyed towns we come across. Unless that option is already available somewhere, it might be fun. Its similar in many RPGs where you do the "restore the abandoned keep" type of thing.

Yeah I have asked for that before as well. I want to rebuild some of the settlements and then have the former owners come back and try and claim it.
I especially like the Idea of rebuilding the shek ruins. That looks like a cool place to build if you have an all shek game.

Alternatively, maybe have a way to become the "mayor" of the town to gain a sort of ownership of it. The idea being that you would not be able to remove any of the original buildings but you could upgrade anything and add more buildings to the town.

oh boy, at this rate you could gain ranks in a faction until you were the big cheese and outright own the town.
