The Spread the Word Thread
So Friends i am searching for Ideas to spread the Word.
My Imagine is that we Form a little Team, maybe 2 or 3 Persons who are constantly spreading methodical the Word. I think it would be a good Idea if we built a..uhem i will call it PR Team you know what i mean?
If we cant help Chris programming and can`t donate Money to Chris maybe we could help him so.
Spreading the Word on FB ( Add Kenshi on FB) maybe find one or two guys for a Twitter Account.
Maybe Chris could give us a new ( i dont know it is the Demo on a actual stand?)
And we go to the Game Magazines we trust and say: Hey Guys you MUST check this Game here is a Demo write about it
We could do Hundred of sexy thinks i Think.
So maybe if you are Interested...? PN me and i will try to ask Chris for a..uhem(dont know the word) under Forum?

Best idea would be slow natural growth kenshi is not finished enough for approching the larger market yet.
In most case people's opinion are not about what the game will be as a finished product but what they see already. Kenshi has to be complete enough to generate a strong interest in people, if it already did that the current audiance would be much larger.
When it is ready for a large audience i have a number of good idea's i would share then, but for now i would agree with facebook/twitter etc.. as a good way to continue but not over grow.

A bigger interest means money for outsourcing, and most importantly, continued development in full-time. More media coverage would be good, especially outside the US. I tried getting one of the bigger swedish gaming sites interested, but i never heard anything back from them. Maybe the more specialized sites (in either indie or RPG games) is a safer bet.
i advertised to most of the larger australian forums, but that was the day it first came out.

The problem is that so many people dream big and don't deliver. So people rarely want to waste time and effort covering something that might not go anywhere. Of course the reality is that a lack of coverage tends to allow things to fall by the wayside. Catch 22.
pie
If you do feel like advertising it just keep it to small threads in forums. A little "Hey look at this neat game a found" while clearly stating it's current state and ambitions. Be realistic when discussing it and preferably only make threads in forums where you have a decent reputation. If people trust your judgement they'll more likely to buy after all.
I mean that's what brought me to the game. How many of you can say the same as well?
Right now it wouldn't work to go for serious news articles because it's just not in a state to be scrutinized like will be inevitable with that kind of publicity.

Too true. Any many have said the game is too early to gain attention by the game related media. The best way to spread Kenshi in it's current state would be through indie-based channels. (Indie sites and forums). Also maybe try forums of games with a similar genre. (like RTS or RPG). Basically, by mentioning Kenshi in the forums of RTS and RPG games (no spamming) your target audience would be people who are interested in such a type of game. When Kenshi is at least deep in Beta then you can try to tackle the larger media coverage. Social networking sites would be also an ok idea, but in Kenshi's current state I would suggest you try to narrow-cast your target audience to that of the gamers of the same genre.
All in all it is great to see people showing great support.

Uploaded the trailer to the gametrailers.com community a few months ago, here's the link (if anyone is interested): http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/kenshi/361174
I'll probably re-post it soon, to keep it fresh.

The game has been mentioned on rockpapershotgun.com a couple of times (which I missed.) When the updates make it get a bit bigger and better I'm sure they will give it some more coverage.
Just got this tonight and loving it after chancely stumbling on it from looking at something else and clicking on some other stuff. Loving it, has potential to be so amazing.

We could write 'buy kenshi' on thousands of tiny scrolls, then give the scrolls to thousands of *CENSORED*.
People will be all like 'hey, that bee's got a scroll! I wonder what it says' they'll read it and be all like 'we'd better do what the bee scroll says, man'
Of course, if the game remains bee free, we have to ask ourselves whether the *CENSORED* are gonna be up for it. So, if we're gonna make this brilliant idea work, we need *CENSORED* in kenshi.
I literally can't think of any other way to spread the word.

...now, if we could only find a pen small enough to write on these micro-scrolls, hmmm...Bee salesman wrote:We could write 'buy kenshi' on thousands of tiny scrolls, then give the scrolls to thousands of *CENSORED*.

I don't know if I can trust this idea, it sounds like a sting.

I am just saying that if it was a sting, we would not have a honey of a chance. But good luck to them finding me, they would have to comb the area quite well.

God damn it. These bee puns really sting.
This is getting out of hand. I'll have to use my inquisitorial powers to track down and kill (ban) all people (yup people not beeple) who use bad puns related to *CENSORED*
BELIEVE IT (yup not beelieve it)
