Fishing village and crab villages no fish?

This just seem absurd to me. My crab died because villages that rely on feeding crabs and a village literally named fishing village do not possess fish.

Do those crabs subsist on oxygen only?

NPC crabs do not need food
once you buy one you need to have raw meat or foul meat or other food types available for it to eat.

i've had raw meat and foul meat in my backpack, i guess crabs don't eat from it like other animals? I guess this needs patching.
