Wandering Slavers are still attacking my no-longer-marked Slave - Feature or bug?

Can anybody tell me if this is a feature or not? I managed to get one of the slaves free at a Slaver camp then hired them. After days of keeping them out of sight, I managed to get them unmarked as an Slave.

However, Manhunters out in the field are still triggering the "slave detected" dialogue even after they're no longer marked as a slave. I don't know if this is a feature or not so I wanted to know one thing:

Slavers will attack regardless.

Do they?

A screenshot from the dialog log shortly after the attack would be helpful as well, as Manhunters do have a case where they will attack non-slaves in an effort to kidnap them and sell them off as "escaped slaves". It's possible that's what happened, and they only coincidentally went after real escaped slaves. :P

There is a dialogue where they say something like "These guys look like slaves" and there is some sort of "hehe" or "close enough" remark as well, it seems really random and they attack you even if none of your guys have ever been slaves.

Oh, I see. So they're just like most other bandit squads, right?

Not really. Every squad has it's own objectives/methods/aggro chance.

For these guys it's quite low and seems to me they only harass early game squads.

Also check your slaves appearance. even if they are not a slave any more they may "look like a slave". That will make slavers attack as well. A trip to the plastic surgeon might be in order.

Little digging here, but Slavers will often attack you if you:
- have reputation with them lower than 30
- have a squad smaller than ~10 guys afaik

It's stated in dialogues in FCS. It will always trigger if you don't have more guys or if you are not a friend of them.

I think also, certain clothes or lack of increase the Manhunter/Slavers chances of deciding whether to nab you or not?
