Picking up a dropped stacked item without a backpack will become a single item

Critical bug. If a stacked item I dropped is picked up by a character without a backpack, it will become a single item.

Unable to reproduce this. Is it a specific item and quantity? A save may help.

Last time this happened, I think it were Iron Plates.

I've noticed this behavior on animals. Say if you down a gorillo and shift-left click one of the hide to make it drop, it will drop to the ground as a stolen item. Possibly related.
