I think Kenshi has great potencial(but know kenshi isnt funny for long times, the game needs some goals for player). The best setting for kenshi can be a dwarf fotress game play. For example: You can gain traders if you will build a buldings and equip building with request items for trade(chest, trade desk etc.). You can gain civilan people if you offer house for people where they can live. You can upgrade society with establishment and instition with risk you can lost control of your city!
Rent Guards, take money from taxes collector etc.

.(justice, sherif etc.)!And all your citizens will live with own live without direct control a player!
It can be great.

Kenshi can be the great hybrid betwen Dwarf fortress and Mount and blade! :!:

"Hey you know what'd be fun? If this game was a different game that's already a game". Uhh... no. Why don't you just go play dwarf fortress, or any one of the dwarf fortress clones that are popping up on steam.

rather have kenshi then it become a clone of another game.

But in the future you might be able to Mod your own settings, so who knows.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

Are you serious? I just type my opinon on kenshi, i bought and is fun but not for long time, there are no goals or challenges for player now.(Yo cant sieges cities, you cant use diplomacy etc.) You can only wandering and build your base and then?...boooring... i expect something more in future. DF settings will be for this game great, this is my Feature request and dream, so respect it.

You maybe never play DF because DF is enough to similar to Kenshi and is really nice you can build a city but for only 20 people? i missing neutral citizents in my town, which will live their own life! and pay me taxes.

If you think it is boring then don't play it. The gage should not be a DF copy it is its own game not a cheep copy of another one I am begging Chris to ignore this horrible idea.

Edit: just looked at your join date I seriously doubt you have been playing kenshi long enough to get any enjoyment out of it. This is a game that is meant to be a long enjoyable game if you don't have the patience for that then well..... No point in playing. But the game will have motte features in the future. Sieges wars etc but it will NOT be a cheep DF or M&B knock off.

DF settings will be great for this game. What you want to do with empty city? You cant develop it. No progress. But if you will have neutral citizents, which have some request. it can be great.

I play kenshi at the start, but i just registry later. Today kenshi nothing original and i think everyone know that and this game have inspiration in many other. Why not DF?

You mabe should try DF then you begin to be critics.

I have played DF and no the game should remain kenshi not some DF knock off as said before kenshi is more original then you obviously think. You want DF settings make them yourself but don't try to corrupt kenshi with them.

If you've been playing kenshi for a while sorry I just guess how long based in join date and with steam sales those generally correspond.

All games have some inspiration but that doesn't mean that they should be the same kenshi yes may have some DF inspiration idk if it does but meh. BUT IT SHOULD NOT BECOME DWARF FORTRESS AT ALL. Chris is trying to make his own game not some knock off if another.

Ps I also own all M&Bs and no it should not be a mount and blade knock off either.

Feeling a STRONG need to make this discussion a bit more constructive.

How about this?
If you would like some settings that are similar to other games, then feel free to post them, but please allude to the fact that we are all here because we want to see Kenshi become a better game than is already planned.

To answer OP's requests, the trade caravans used to visit your town a lot more frequently than they do now (Chris is currently making a new world map as well as working on new AI and pathfinding, so speculating they will not return until one or both of these are implemented), but it would be really cool to, for example, have a "job board" or something that will allow the player to request goods, items, or weapons that traders will sell to your shop counter, given there is room for the items and currency for the cost.
I have read other requests about civilians/NPCs populating you town with no direct control.
I also read that it is confirmed whenever faction wars is implemented, other factions will be able to seize control of other NPC towns as well as your outpost, which will provoke rescues, ransoms, counterattacks, and other scenarios that are entirely unique to Kenshi in both design and execution.
Renting guards and tax collectors would likely fall under "more, better assaults", which has been confirmed and can be found on the Roadmap here:
http://lofigames.com/index.php?option=c ... &Itemid=71

If you, or anyone else, ever feel that Kenshi is lacking anything, you can always check this Roadmap to see what Chris is currently working on, what is currently in the near future, as well as what will eventually become a thing.

For what I understood, I think there's slight overreacting to OPs post, don't you think?

I'm sure he did not mean that he wants the game to be a "clone of another game" or anything like that.

Besides, I kind of agree with him in some of the things... :| I think after long time of playing the game gets little boring.
After you have army of 15 fully trained samurais in full heavy armor and 5 skilled super ninjas with hardened strawhats in a big fortress capable of producing anything there's really not much to do. Nothing possesses any real threat anymore. It's mostly due to the lack of content because of the alpha stage. I'm sure it will be fixed when we get more features but for now... It gets kinda boring.

And about the DF thing, I think he meant that he wants NPCs to his town to manage and collect taxes from etc. like in DF. (At this point, you should know that I have only tried DF little bit. Seems great game but the "graphics" are just too much for me to handle  ) And I totally agree with this! I want it to be possible to own a town full of NPCs and shops with traders in them. Just like when you first bought your shack in a town, you were just one its citizens. At some point, I want to raise to the possession to SELL a house to a trader that sells his wares in my town and gives me a share of course ;)

I don't want it to be too complicated though. I don't want to be running back and forth all the time to be asking from every single NPC individually what they want just to keep the town running. I don't mind occasional request of 5 rums for 200 cats on a billboard though.

You understand me well!
And you cizitenst should have some demands sometimes for example: better well, or "Justice house"
Guards(which you have to pay from taxes) etc.
